It was a backup for my website, which had recently gone down thanks to a server crash. (I was, at the time, hosted on a box in a friends' closet.)<br /><br />As it turned out, I never went back to the traditional HTML page as a means of blogging; I didn't even know that was what I was doing at the time. I stuck with Blogger and the freedom from coding it offered.<br /><br />Of course, Blogger was only the start of my addiction, which soon attracted me to WordPress, which has kept me hooked ever since, even as I've watched WP mature into a product beyond my limited coding comprehension. I abandoned this blog sometime in 2007.<br /> <br />So this may very well be the last-ever post I put here. No one will ever read it, but I don't care. I had to play with Blogger's new tools just once.
